To date, all gas customers in Bremen and the surrounding area have been supplied with what is known as ‘low caloric gas’ obtained from the Netherlands and north-western Germany. Since 2015, there has been a gradual changeover to high caloric gas, most of which comes from Russia and the North Sea. This is due to the decreasing output of low caloric gas.

Nothing is going to change for you in terms of dealing with this new high caloric gas. The new gas will not cost any more money either, as the price per kilowatt hour (KWh) for both kinds of gas is the same. However, we will need to check your gas appliances and make any adjustments required. In the vast majority of cases, this will not result in any direct costs for you. (verlinken FAQ) Sole exception: if your appliance does not satisfy the applicable technical requirements and the necessary adjustments cannot be made as a result. If this is the case, you will have to pay for the appliance to be replaced or repaired.

A specially trained employee will be coming to visit you soon to register your appliances on behalf of wesernetz. The necessary technical modifications will then be made to your appliances during a second visit.

We will write you a letter well in advance to let you know the time frame we have in mind for our visit. You will then have the opportunity to arrange the date that suits you here.

You will find the answers to many more questions in our FAQs.
